East Coast Ladies Kennel Association
The East Coast Ladies Kennel Association is one of New Zealands youngest All Breeds Dog Clubs, formed in June 1996. The first of several Match Days was held in October that year and, following official Recognition by the N.Z. Kennel Club in February 1998, the club hosted its first Ribbon Parade in May 1998. The N.Z. Kennel Club granted the club Associated status in 1999 enabling it to hold its first Open Show in December 1999. This was a great success. The club then held 2 Open Shows each year, one in conjunction with the Wairoa K.A Championship Shows (March/April) and what became our traditional Christmas Open Show in December. Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th December 2003 were momentous dates in the clubs history for this is when the newly affiliated East Coast Ladies Kennel Associations inaugural, and very successful, Championship Shows were held. Photos of our past Best in Show winners can be seen in our Scrapbook. Back-to-back [b]Championship Shows[/b] continue to be held in December.
