Tararua Allbreeds runs domestic and competition obedience classes for people in Palmerston North and the surrounding districts. Classes are held at 7pm on Tuesday evenings. There are five terms per year, each of eight weeks duration. Classes over summer (terms 1 and 5) are held at Manawatu Canine Centre in Ashhurst and over winter (terms 2, 3 and 4) are run at the Tararua Allbreeds Grounds in Longburn (over the bridge).

Instruction is done by members of the club on a voluntary basis. Training fees cover the costs of running the club and classes. Club members compete in Obedience, Agility, Working Trials, Sledding, Conformation and Paws N Music.
