Burwell Kennels is located in the heart of Waiuku, on our own 8 acre lifestyle block. Our puppies are raised in our home with our other well trained dogs and enjoy a pretty amazing rural lifestyle.
I am a professional dog trainer and am passionate about getting all of our puppies off to a great start, and ongoing training packages are available for new puppy owners as well as ongoing support during your dog ownership journey.
Our Staffords have all been health tested (using Orivet) and are genetically clear for L2-HGA, HC & DM. Breeding fit and healthy puppies with amazing temperaments is our number one priority.
About me, Suzanne: I am originally from Staffordshire in the UK and I moved to New Zealand in 2007. I came over for an OE and never went home! I have loved this breed for as long as I can remember. We had Staffords growing up and they were all amazing family dogs. Loyal, friendly, smart, robust and easy to train. I have a passion for all things dog and alongside our fabulous Staffords I also have three rescue dogs who complete our family. Our top dog, Daisy, is the matriarch of the pack and is such a good role model for our younger pups growing up.

SHADOWSTAFF PEARL DUCHESS AT BURWELL
Our beautiful Pearl Duchess an absolute stunning all-rounder. Not only does she have the sweetest nature and best temperament, she is great with other dogs, loves human company, looooves food and loves
snuggles on the sofa. She is playful, funny, smart and easy to train. It
has been an absolute joy watching Pearl grow up and seeing her loving
life on our 8 acre rural property. She also loves mud which is not ideal
for a white dog!
Pearl is also a champion in the making. She placed 3rd in the NSBTC Championship Show (Aug 2021), 2nd in the North Harbour Kennel Association Championship Show (Sept 2022) and 3rd in the Auckland Kennel Council Championship Show (Sept 2022) .... and placed 3rd in the Purina Pro Plan National Dog Show 2022 too!
We are very much looking forward to having some mini Pearls running around! Pearl is currently in season and will be mated end of November, and if successful her first litter will be whelped in January 2023. We are now taking expressions of interest for this litter. Pearl has been Orivet health tested and is clear for L2-HGA, HC & DM.

Black Ivy is our black brindle beauty! Ivy is smart, endearing,
tenacious and playful - a really lovely combination of personality
traits and very true to Stafford form!
Ivy is doing well in the show ring... winning Best Minor Puppy
and Best Minor Puppy in Show at the NSBTC Championship Show (July 2022), Best Puppy at the North Harbour Kennel Association Championship Show (Sept 2022) and Best Puppy at the Auckland Kennel Council Championship Show (Sept 2022).
At
home, Ivy loves nothing more than terrorizing her older sisters. She
loves her rural lifestyle on our 8 acre farm, playing with other dogs
and cuddling up on the sofa. She's also a big foodie! Loves her treats
which makes training super easy. Ivy is an absolute joy to own and we
love watching her grow up into a gorgeous wee lady.

VALLEYRIVER SHADOWSTAFFF GOLD AT BURWELL
Our boy Theodore is our newest Stafford and at just 5 months old is quite the cutie!
His coat colour is a gorgeous tiger brindle and looks almost gold in the sun. He will really compliment both Pearl and Ivy in future matings with both temperament and colour. Theo isn't too pushy... he is very polite with his mannerisms even at this young age.
Theo loves his sleep, loves playing with all dogs of any size and shape and loves his training. We do some training every day and he has a drive to please and to learn. Such a fabulous all rounder!
Theo attended his first dog shows on 17th/18th Sept 2022 and won Best Baby Puppy in both shows AND won Best Baby Puppy of Breed in the North Harbour Kennel Association Championship Show. A star in the making!
